How to search the Kentucky registry

The Business Entity Search searches by business name, organization number, city of principal office and ZIP code of principal office.

  1. Open the Business Entity Search page on the Secretary of State site.
  2. Choose to search by business name or organization number, city, or ZIP code.
  3. Uncheck "Show active entities only" if you also want inactive records.
  4. Enter the name or number and select Search.
  5. Select a company name to open its profile with status, standing, registered agent and last annual report date.

Late filingNo late fee is listed. An entity that misses June 30 is listed in bad standing, and domestic entities are administratively dissolved (foreign entities have their authority revoked). Reinstatement costs a $100 penalty plus delinquent fees.

Foreign corporations and LLCs pay $90 for a Certificate of Authority. Reinstatement after administrative dissolution carries a $100 penalty.
