How to search the Rhode Island registry

The Corporate Database search searches by entity name, individual's name, identification number, business address and purpose.

  1. Open the Corporate Database search on business.sos.ri.gov.
  2. Choose to search by entity name, individual's name, identification number, business address or purpose.
  3. Enter at least the first two letters, or the full 9-digit ID with leading zeros, and pick a search type such as begins with.
  4. Choose the Active database, or the Inactive database for cancelled and dissolved entities, and run the search.
  5. Open the entity to see its status, registered agent, officers and filed documents.

What a Rhode Island status means
